1 ✻ I.... don't want a lot for Christmas [Action/Text]

[ A - Action. Morning. Tenten, Ino and Riku's apartment. ]

[ And, so it's Christmas. After a valiant struggle with elves, their ridiculous requests and their oddly judgmental and hypocritical methods, Tenten is left with a single gift. She wasn't sure if she was naughty or nice, because she kinda broke even with them or compromised, but, she did get a gift. She hastily unwrapped it, hoping it'd be a brand new swiss army weapon.

She did not get the swiss army weapon. Her mouth drops the floor quicker than a bunch of kids after an ice cream truck. She shrieks. In her hands is one, giant portrait of Guy-sensei, in really tight green spandex. He mimics a famous pose, and there's a similar message adorned on the picture. However, it states "I WANT YOU.....TO BE MORE YOUTHFUL". She stares at it in horror. Had she not been nice enough? Did her previous aids of babysitting children during the draft go unnoticed? All of these questions where swirling around her head as she took a breath out and accepted her fate as naughty. ]

[ B - Action. Morning. Community housing one, floor four's hallway ]

[ Well, residents (or passer-bys) of complex 1, four floor apartment can see the picture of ~~Uncle Sam~~ Guy-sensei in skin strangling green spandex with the command that "I WANT YOU.....TO BE MORE YOUTHFUL" hung on the end of the hall, right above the entrance to the kitchen. His eyes seem to follow around the looker, making for quite an unsettling portrait. Yeah. Tenten can be seen staring at it from her door, her mouth still agape in horror. ]

[ C - Action. Morning - Later Afternoon. Library. ]

[ Maybe there was a mistake in the system. There had to be a mistake, right? Tenten, dawned in her Christmas Outfit, which is actually the only article of clothing she has available, per the elf's ridiculous request, marches her way to the library. You're free to encounter her on the way there, but it looks like she's on a mission as she madly mutters about tight green spandex and youthfulness.

You can catch Tenten at the library reading an army of books about Santa. She seems to have multiple notes on a nearby piece of paper. Some of which read the obviously helpful, "WEARS RED SUIT", "HEAVY SET AND JOLLY", "HAS DISEASED REINDEER?", "HAS CONNECTIONS TO COAL", and, "ELVES? CREEPY, AND SIMILAR LOOKING BY GENETICS?" and other types of brief, unintentionally hilarious, notes. A couple of times, she gazes to her notes and talks about how something just doesn't make sense, but, for the most part, she's pretty enveloped in her studies about the jolly old man. ]

[ D - Text. Evening. ]

Question, how can Santa make it down a chimney if he obviously can't fit down there, given numerous depictions? How about homes that don't have chimneys? Do the elves take into a general account of your behavior, or just your behavior during Christmas time?

[ Someone is taking this way too seriously. ]

I am so sorry, Tenten! [He shouts back as he homes in one her location.] I did not mean to betray the dignity of this area! I have merely wished to wish you a most merry Christmas! And... [As he approaches, he holds up the poster accusingly.] I must know what deeds you have performed to earn this masterpiece!

[It's a loving little family, alright.]

... [ She isn't sure what to say. She'll drop the library offense for now, because she can just tie it in with how to respond to this question without hurting someone's feelings. ]

I can't say I'm quite sure what I did to deserve this, Lee. I mean, I never really outright gave in to the elves' demands, instead I just compromised on them with some things. I've been researching this at the library, to determine if I've been naughty or nice, and why guarding a bunch of children from weird cultists on the moon doesn't qualify as nice if I'm naughty. [ oh boy lee you are opening up a submarine of asspain. ]

This is most interesting. However, in the end, I classify you as "nice"! And I could not imagine a nicer present than this portrayal of Gai portraying maximum youth! Well, aside from maybe my friend at least. [He says as the squirrel scitters across his shoulders.] Protecting moon children sounds perfectly benevolent!

Of course you'd classify me as nice, Lee! You probably think anyone that gets this gift has never had a single transgression in their life! [ ....Just gently side eying Lee's logical process. ] The maximum youth is a bit unsettling... I mean, no matter where you are in the room, he still find a way to look at you. And I agree, I just wish I got a swiss army weapon, or something that doesn't quite spook me when I'm half asleep.

How can Gai-Sensei's watchful gaze frighten you? It would help me believe that he is efficient at looking for intruders if this painting's eyesight is so efficient! I would feel even safer in my sleep with Gai Sensei's gaze looking out out for me! But... [He frowns as he considers her words.]You did not get what you want?

Uh? It's totally creepy. He just points to you meanancingly. The firm expression on his face is nothing like the warmth I'd expect from Guy-sensei! And, besides, I don't like things watching me all the time. We're ninjas. Secrecy is part of the job, you know? [ Which is why Naruto wears all orange... ]

There's just something off about him being this expressive but never smiling, indefinitely. [ She sighs. ] No, not really. I was hoping for a magic weapon that could change into anything that I could think of. Just how cool would that be?! Alas, Santa's magic came up short.

But, Tenten. As a teacher, Gai-Sensei is expected to project firmness from time to time. And if anything is to watch me at all times, I would be honored if it were a likeness of him! ...But I must admit, you are right in that... I do miss his smile.

I do not like to doubt Santa-sama after I have witnessed his power. But it is indeed disappointing that your desire did not come. However, Tenten, I believe your own skill far exceeds the need for such a weapon.

Yes, but he doesn't project firmness all the time! He only projects firmness if it's serious and life-threatening, or if we break one of his rules! [ ...She sighs. ] Besides, why would you want Guy-sensei to watch you all the time! Part of why he's such a distinguished teacher is his ability to facilitate growth without his actual presence! [ A pause. ] Because he's just that memorable!

I know, I know, Lee. I'm quite a skilled kunoichi. But it would have been a cool thing! Like, imagine if you mastered the seventh gate or something! You don't need it because you're strong enough, but it's a good perk!

But at home he still has some presence. Here... images of him are all we have. That makes each one precious in his way, no matter how firm his stare. I know that it is only because I have done wrong and not trained hard enough.

Oh - I would love to master all eight gates! Who knows? Maybe I will need it!

An image of him doesn't compare to a memory. Memories are the true gift Guy-sensei has left with us. His shining talents, ideas, teachings and all of his expressions and opinions are with us. To try to depict one and then assert it into our daily lives is rude. This isn't the Guy-sensei we knew! The Guy-sensei we knew would add our wings into our training and we'd be the very first Lucetians to fly with them, you know, Lee?

[ ....She squints a bit. ]

Lee, you don't need the eight gates. Your strength far outweighs then what the ultimate sacrifice would need. I'm sure you can still get by on five alone, especially after you launch them in the air and I toss a storm of blades at them!

Tenten... the memories of him... Learning under him in the springtime of our youth! [He tears up at beautiful, idealized memories.]

You do not know if the situation may arise in which I do need them! And perhap I could find a way to survive regardless - but yes, for now, our impeccable teamwork should suffice!

[ Uh oh. Here come the tears. ]

You don't know if a situation is possible! You should be able to handle all threats with the first five alone! You, me and Neji have the best teamwork out of the teams [ THERE'S NO INO-SHIKA-CHO AROUND RIGHT??? Just glancing around to make sure. ] We're strong enough as we are now, but that doesn't mean we can pursue other things to become stronger.

This is true, Tenten! Together, the three of us, as a team?! ANYTHING CAN BE OVERCOME! We must train rigorously in our teamwork and prove that poster of Gai-Sensei false!

Also, in order to become a proper trio, you will have to adopt your own animal! Just as myself and Neji have. [As if on cue, Lee's squirrel races down his arm to scamper around the table, perching atop the model Santa.]

I can agree to that! We should learn how to fight winged combatants! It'll do us much good.

[ Tenten blinks twice and briefly looks at her hands. ] Lee! I already have an animal! Didn't you see the turtle tank in my room?! I got it from a horoscope! [ ....Her life is weird, ok? ]

Of course! That should be helpful training for battles against the Third Party!

Oh... right! How could I have forgotten? Our trio is already completed!

Yeah! I've been tuning my aiming skills so now I can just aim for the wings! [ ....Lee, your teammate here is kinda pragmatic. ]

It's okay. The turtle is kinda forgettable. Mostly because he just slows moves from place to place in his tank. Sometimes he goes underwater and swims around, but, most of the times he just eats fruit and sunbathes.

Make sure you can give them time to state their intentions! [And a chinstroke.] I should master punching through such wings... [Lee, aren't you supposed to be better.]

I never wish to forget him or his activities! I must examine him in his natural habitat more often to determine his capabilities as a ninja. Tell me his name!

Lee! Didn't you just tell me to make sure they state their intentions before I obliterate their wings?! [ She doubts Lee will be able to demonstrate self-restraint if she can't. ]

His name is Youth! [ Yeah. She is kinda bad at names. She briefly realizes what type of pandora's box she opened so she tries to save some face. ] But I've been wondering if he's fitting for it. I know he has a defense mechanism where he slides his features into his shell and from there I can throw him to trip people. [ Yeah. Like Mario. She's been practicing, okay? ]

Yes, I should surely do the same! [Sure you will.]

Youth?! Gai-Sensei would love such a name! And that truly sounds like the most effective battle skill... I wonder if my squirrel has abilities of his own!

I know, I know, you two would probably love the name enough to make him a fourth member. I bet your squirrel has abilities of his own, Lee! After all, he did lead you to the place and was able to communicate with the exploding tag on him. He must be particularly limber to live in the Forest of Death, and resourceful. He's probably a good spy companion! Huh? [ Looking at the rodent now to see if he agrees with her! ]

[The squirrel's just going to stare at her before scurrying around in search of something to chew on.]

I believe that is affirmative! He could make a very good companion. I should test him for his jutsu capabilities! And... ah, I'll need a name for him, too...

Can wild animals even use ninjutsu? They mostly just use their natural talents, right? Maybe you can attach tiny blades to his feet for extra traction and so it hurts someone if he were to climb on him.

You should call him after something that's important to you, but don't copy me and make it Youth like my turtle's name! [ OK LEE THIS TOWN IS ONLY BIG ENOUGH FOR ONE SMALL ANIMAL CALLED YOUTH... ]

This is true... although Condor and his gang were particularly skilled! [~~SO WHAT IF IT WAS FILLER~~] But blades are something that could be considered.

[The squirrel looks up, concerned by these prospects.]

I would never steal such a name from my beloved teammate, Tenten! Never!

Condor and his gang are some of the best ninja animals anyone has ever seen! [ she loves that ostrich ok. it's the sassiest thing ever. ] I'm sure if Condor had a knife on its foot, it'd be twice as deadly! Imagine just how fierce the kick would be!

[ not noticing the squirrel tbh. It's weapons time. ]

That's nice to hear Lee! Youth can be an individual another day!

They were certainly very capable! If Condor was equipped in such a manner... I do not know if we would have survived!

Of course! I would never question Youth's individuality. It is my squirrel whom I must identify.
